Reasons people fear going to markets and solutions to that

Image
Many people finds it stressful and challenging when they get themselves to places that are over crowded and they are activities going on there. When places are overcrowded that is when the criminals like the bag snatchers, pick pockets and all sort of crime activities. I see people always complaining anytime they return from their journeys as they visits overcrowded places like the markets, stadiums, party jams etc. Some always complain that, they are being robbed anytime they visit those places but to my opinion I see that as carelessness and lack of experience. Since those individuals with experience visits the markets on the normal basis they don’t allow strangers to rob them or pick pocket them. Below are some tricks you should always do anytime you visit places that are overcrowded in order not to be a victim of those crime activities. 1. Do not carry valuable luggage’s and leave your phone or money in your pocket. People have been carrying things on their heads and leaving their

Burna Boy Apologises For A Bad Show

Image
Burna Boy is known by his name as Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu he has been making much impact on the Nigerian music industry, He is known to be “Odogwu” which I think in our local language Chairman. Burna Boy hosted a concert in Lagos after his Afrochella controversies, Burna Boy hosted a concert named Lagos Love Damini which was very great at the beginning but according to some reports ended badly. According to some reports, people were allegedly robbed of their mobile phones and the security system was somehow to their comfort. A certain video popped up where a die-hard fan who had much love for the superstar was grabbed off the stage as a bag of rice by the security personnel. Although it was a threat to the superstar at least they should have given the chance to hug the superstar as she climbed the stage, Burna Boy has issued a statement of apology to the fans.

Ghanaians are always passing through hardship and torment in the country since the economy is not stable in maintaining its resources and generating much funds into the system. Although the government of the National Democratic Congress disappointed Ghanaians by not fulfilling all their promises which they gave in their rallies and has deeply failed Ghanaians.  Just recently there was some demonstration which went on which which is named fixTheCountry demo youths were claiming they were suffering in this country so they used that certain day  as the founders day to collaborate and host a hot demonstration around streets of Accra certainly at Kwame Nkrumah Circle. Ghanaians which were hosting the demonstration was given the opportunity to chip in their ideas on decisions which they think is not the right thing done by the government. Some of the youths claimed there are soo much hardship and there is no money in the economy which has made life living very difficult for them. A certain p

The Case For Mini-Hydro Power Systems

Image
A GROUP of energy experts has recommended that the country undertakes the construction of more mini-hydro electrical power systems to supplement what is currently generated from the Akosombo and Kpong dams, as well as from thermal plants. They noted that only about 50 percent of the country's hydropower potential has been harnessed and that more than 40 viable hydro sites that could generate the requisite levels of power exist in the country (see front page report. Power from the Akosombo and Koong dams which is fed into the national gird is used to meet the energy needs of key industrial and commercial plants such as the Volta Aluminum Company (VALCO), the steel mills, textile, garments, and leather factories, cement and cannery works and many other businesses throughout the country, These businesses provide not only jobs for the people but also reliable sources of income which go to sustain workers, their families, and other dependants. With the help of this power, goods are prod

Azumah Deserved Better Honour In His Days

Image
MY BELOVED school, the University of Science and Technology (U.S.T.) has reverted to its former name, Kwame Nkrumah University. I sincerely think this is a splendid idea to name a great institution after a great man. Streets, airports, squares, etc named after great personalities never die out with time and it is a befitting way of saying thank you to our great men. But in this wise, I think Azumah Nelson is being cheated. Better late than never, so the popular adage goes but wasn't it a "bit too late" to be honoring D.K. Poison, (the 1st Boxer to win a world title) after 23 years, when he wrestled the featherweight crown from Reuben Olivares in September all the same, kudos to SWAG. but our sports authorities and the government of this country must do more for Azumah Nelson. I feel it is high time a major street or even sports complex was built and named after Professor" Azumah has done what no African boxer has ever done. He is the only African boxer to hold a worl

Political “Koboloi” ~ Review of the mirror graphic

Image
In those days, whenever a bad boy was spotted at the village square, using a bad word, bullying, or making a nuisance of himself, the question often raised was who  is your father, or in whose house were you breed The question often implied that your parents had ignored their parental duties, or probably had passed on their waywardness. It was often such a boy that made an entire livelihood out of pickpocketing at Kejetia, from where he would pick his way up through smoking the dreaded stuff, then get a diploma in unemployment, a certificate in hooliganism, honorary mention in drunkenness, before he finally graduates as a thug: KOBO. It is often not easy to tell a kobolo from his forehead, but hawkers at the lorry park often see them operating, yet decide not to blow a whistle, in the interest of peace, and political stability. In parts of Mamobi and New Town in Accra, owners of small enterprises like drinking spots and retail kiosks would advise new entrepreneurs to report and introdu

Welcome FMs,Welcome Choice ~ The Mirror

Image
There have been many times in our Ghanaian lives, when we learned to live without choice. If we ordered Coke and were given Fanta we took it like that; if we ordered chicken and got fish, we did not complain; if we wanted sardines but got Geisha, or tea but got Milo instead, we felt lucky that we got anything at In those bad old days of no choice, our lives were dominated by the king of the airwaves, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, now known variously by such sleek names as GAR, and GTV.  Until late last year, my drive-time was captured exclusively by GBC, for my car stereo does not allow for a tape with which to diversify my listening pleasure. My choice was either GBC , the sound of emptiness. Not so now, GBC has plenty of company so that when I get sick of the pontification, complaining and talk of KVIPs and taxi drivers on Good Morning Accra, I simply seek friendlier airwaves. I find Joy in 99.7, and dig for Gold on 90.5. I Groove on 106.3 and feel the Vibe on 91.9. I even can hear
